The three year old girl allegedly abused and raped by the boyfriend of her mother has died at the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Tenerife.
The girl died late yesterday afternoon. She had suffered cardiac arrest, had bruising to most of her body and burns to her lower back and abdomen.
The assault and abuse occurred on Tuesday evening while the mother was at work. The alleged attacker, the 24 year old boyfriend of the mother, took the young girl to the health centre in Arona when she suffered difficulty in breathing. The Guardia Civil were notified due to the injuries discovered on the body of the girl and the boyfriend was arrested.
