This past weekend was the Fiesta de Los Rondeles in Casarabonela, a celebration declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalucia and one which traditionally heralds the arrival of the Christmas period in the town.
Gastronomic routes, crafts markets and processions are all part of the celebrations and the culmination of the fiesta is the night of December 12th, the ‘víspera de Santa Lucía’. There is a procession through the streets of the ‘Divina Pastora’ (Divine Shepherdess), the Virgen de Los Rondeles, with flaming torches lighting the way.
