A court in Sevilla has sentenced a 40 year old Local Police officer to two and a half years in prison for storing pornographic images of children, including babies, on his computer.
The officer was detained in 2007 at his home in Aguadulce and around 60,000 photos and videos containing pornographic material were found stored on his computer.
The images were described as heinous and disgusting as they were clearly pornographic and contained many photos of minors under the age of thirteen years and some were even very young children or babies.
The defendant claimed he was unaware that he was downloading and sharing pornographic content via the program eMule but this defence was dismissed by the court.
The sentence was the maximum allowable for this type of offence.
