Work has started on the second phase of the construction of the new Sports Centre in Ronda, the €1,120,125 project being financed equally by the City Council and the Department of Tourism, Trade and Sport of the Junta de Andalucia.
A total of seventeen were received for this second phase of building works, four of them from local companies, and the contract was awarded to Obra Sport, S. L.
Phase two of the works include the construction of a new grandstand to seat 933 spectators, the building of changing rooms, offices, storage rooms, a press room, the installation of lighting and various other facilities. When completed, the centre will hold around 3,000 spectators.
This phase of the project, which has a completion period of eighteen months, will create 16 new jobs.
