National Police in Sevilla have arrested four people involved in smuggling cocaine hidden in Andalucian sports calendars and distributing the drug in Sevilla and Málaga provinces.
The investigation began several months ago after police discovered the existence of the group and learned that a new shipment was being planned for January.
A 39 year old Málaga resident made a trip to Senegal, returning four days later via Lisbon, and when his luggage was searched, officers found 1.5 kilos of cocaine hidden in eight large sports calendars.
Also arrested were a 41 year old Nigerian, said to be the head of the organisation, and two women, one of whom transported drugs from South America.
The investigation is still ongoing.
