The Mayor of San Lúcar La Mayor, Juan Escámez Luque (PSOE), died last night as a result of myocardial infarction. He was 53 years old.
Juan Escámez Luque was married and had two children.
He became Mayor of San Lúcar La Mayor in 2003 as head of the socialist group and chaired the Commonwealth Committee for the promotion and development of Aljarafe.
The Mayor was also a member of the Provincial Town Planning Committee, Safety Committee of the FAMP and was leader of the socialists in Aljarafe.
Three days of official mourning have been declared and flags will be flying at half-mast.
