The Ministry of Interior and the Basque Department of Interior are urging continued ‘vigilance’ in the wake of recent arrests of suspected ETA terrorists.
In various operations, a total of nine suspected ETA terrorists have been detained and there are those who believe that ETA, although severely weakened by the arrests, is still capable of launching attacks. Perhaps one large, high profile operation to show that they are still a force to be reckoned with.
The police have shown their effectiveness in the latest operations against the terrorist organisation but the authorities want to avoid complacency.
