A 24 year old Swiss man has died after falling from a height of around six metres while climbing near the ‘Caminito del Rey’ in the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes (gorge) in Álora.
The Fire Brigade and Guardia Civil managed to carry the body to a ledge from where it was evacuated by a helicopter from the Andalucia Emergency Rescue Group (GREA).
The climber had suffered severe head injuries as a result of the fall which occurred at around 13:30 yesterday afternoon.
