The Town Hall is planning a series of events in March to commemorate International Women’s Day (March 8th).
Ideas for events were discussed at a meeting of the Local Council for Equality held on Friday and attended by the Mayor, José Alberto Armijo, the coordinateor of the Institute for Women in Málaga, Pilar Oriente, and various women’s organisations in Nerja. The opposition PSOE declined to attend, despite being invited.
Amongst the events are films at the Nerja Cultural Centre on March 7th and 21st and lectures on self esteem to be held in Nerja on March 8th and in Maro on March 9th.
Local women’s organisations have also put forward a proposal for a wireless internet system to be installed in the Clara Campoamor centre and this request is to be studied by the Council.
