A 37 year old Spanish man is in hospital after receiving at least one gunshot wound to the head in an incident in Roquetas de Mar on Monday evening.
The incident occurred shortly before 19:30 at a house in calle Nador. The neighbourhood, containing around 200 homes, is considered a depressed area and it was the scene of riots in 2008 following the fatal stabbing of a Senegalese youth.
No arrests have yet been made and the Guardia Civil investigation is being hampered by a number of contradictory statements as to the circumstances surrounding the incident.
