A Spanish couple on holiday in Asila, Morocco, were stabbed and killed this morning, the motive of the crime thought to have been robbery.
The couple, in common with many Spanish, had bought a second home in the resort of Asilah, about 45 kilometres from Tangier.
The couple were stabbed in the night by a stranger who stole their money and passports. The alleged murderer then stole his victim’s car and made his getaway. However, he collided with a truck and this led to his arrest by the police.
The Spanish couple, from Madrid, had been spending their holidays in Asilah for the past ten years.
