The AEN and the Council have approved a cooperation agreement, to be signed shortly, whereby hotel guests will be able to avail themselves of municipal sports facilities, an initiative designed to promote sports tourism.
The agreement states that hotels may quote season ticket prices to guests for the use of municipal sports facilities provided that these establishments meet certain criteria, such as being fully paid up members of the AEN and have paid the annual fee to be a member of the Municipal Council of Sports, that fee currently being €53.
Under the agreement, hotels will be able to make online bookings for their guests.
The initiative is thought to be of particular benefit during the low season so that hotels can attract sporty tourists.
