A woman has died in Salt, Girona, after being stabbed by her partner, the second domestic violence fatality in the town in less than a week.
The incident occurred at around 03:30 on Sunday morning on the paseo Països Catalans. When the Emergency Services arrived on the scene the woman, in her thirties, was already dead.
Several hours later, the alleged perpetrator, also in his thirties and the boyfriend of the girl, was detained in Mataró, Barcelona, by Mossos d’Esquadra officers.
Both the victim and the alleged perpetrator are Spanish nationals.
