The body of a 62 year old man was found on Sunday morning between the beaches of Calaceite and Peñoncillo at kilometer 286 of the old N-340 in Torrox Costa.
The deceased is Abdel M, a Jordanian by birth but a Spanish national. His naked body had 28 knife wounds of varying severity and there were numerous contusions.
His car was found parked about 200 metres away. In the vehicle was one of two farewell notes, the other having been found on the beach itself, and there was a knife near the car.
One scenario being investigated is that the man committed ‘self harming’, most of the cuts being on one side of his body and around the wrists, and then walked into the sea. He was then battered against the rocks which would account for a number of the contusions.
However, other possibilities are not being ruled out due to the apparent large number of blows to the body. The autopsy is expected to shed more light on what actually happened.
