Even high unemployment and a recession isn’t deterring the wannabe immigrants from making the perilous journey across the Mediterranean in their flimsy boats, another twelve being picked up early this morning about 18 miles east of Cabo de Gata, Almeria.
The small boat was spotted by a helicopter patrol at around 04:00 this morning and a Marine Rescue vessel was sent to intercept.
The passengers, all young males, were said to be in good health and were taken to Almeria Port in preparation for repatriation.
