Torrox Council has postponed approval of the budget after the socialist PSOE raised questions about possible irregularities relating to the approval of the budget for the Municipal Tourist Board.
According to the PSOE, two members who voted to approve the budget of the Municipal Tourist Board were not actually ex officio members of the Board and therefore the vote was null and void.
The Councillor for Finance, Alfonso Márquez (PIU), stated that the PSOE were within their rights to raise this matter and that the Council will not violate the rights of any political group.
The alleged irregularity will now be studied and a new meeting to, hopefully, approve the budget will be held later this month.
