Operation ‘Olivar’ has resulted in eleven detentions in connection with the theft of 100,000 litres of olive oil from a mill in the town of Purchena, Almería province.
The final destination of the stolen oil is thought to have been Italy. Ten of the detainees are Italian, one is Spanish.
The investigation has been ongoing for several months and was launched after the theft on June 19th 2010 of 45,000 litres of olive oil from a mill in Bullas.
