Council responds to museum allegations

The Councillor for Planning and member of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Inocencia Quintero (PP), has responded to allegations made by the PSOE spokesman and manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation,Ángel Ramírez, that obstacles were being put in the way relating to the completion of the Nerja Museum project.

The Councillor denied that the Council was hampering the completion of the museum through excessive administrative requirements, stating that the reports were being requested by the municipal technicians, not the Mayor, and that these are the same requests as would be the case with any ordinary citizen.

The Councillor also denied that the alleged irregularities were being pursued via the office of the State Attorney as also alleged by Ángel Ramírez. She added that if the court has the dismissed claims by the Council relating to alleged irregularities in the financing of the museum it is because Ramirez has been forced to correct matters as a result of the Council action.

There are probably a lot more playthings to be expelled from perambulators before the saga is concluded, especially with an election looming.
