On Sunday, while flamenco singer Enrique Morente lay in the Intensive Care Unit in Madrid following complications during surgery last week, thieves took the opportunity to break into his home in Granada.
A member of the public alerted the police to the robbery and the officers found the door of the house open and the inside in disarray. The burglar alarm in the house was not working.
It is known that the thieves stole a car, which was later recovered, but it is not yet known if any other items are missing as the family are at the bedside of the singer.
