Police in Sevilla rescued a 90 year old woman who had been trapped under a partially collapsed roof for twelve hours following storms in Alcalá del Río.
At 09:00 on Thursday, police received a call about a woman apparently trapped under rubble at her home and went to investigate.
Unable to gain entry through the front of the house, police kicked in the back door and eventually found the woman after sifting through the rubble.
The woman had been trapped since 22:00 on Wednesday but despite her ordeal, had only suffered minor injuries and bruising and after being treated at the Hospital Virgen Macarena in Sevilla was discharged.
The cause of the roof collapse is being investigated but it is thought that it was as a result of the heavy rains.
