A woman in the Zaidín district of Granada city has been arrested on suspicion of abandoning her children after they were found to be in poor health.
A neighbour alerted the authorities and police found the two children, aged 3 years and 6 years, alone in the house. The conditions were insanitary and the children showed signs of hunger.
The woman apparently went to see the children from ‘time to time’ but paid little regard to whether they needed feeding or needed the toilet.
The children have now been taken to a child protection centre.
