The Mayor of El Borge, José Antonio Ponce, is to urge the Central and Regional governments to adopt general rules to formally legalise the civil baptisms which take place in the municipality.
El Borge was the first in Andalucia, and one of the first in Spain, to conduct such ceremonies.
Both the central and regional governments have been carrying out studies on this subject.
