Water problems in the Benamargosa valley

Five municipalities in the Benamargosa valley have not been receiving water from Lake Viñuela since Saturday November 17th due to damage caused to pipes by the last storms. Almáchar, El Borge, Benamargosa, Cútar and Comares are the affected municipalities with a total population of around 7,000 residents.

El Borge without drinking water since Saturday

Residents in El Borge, Málaga province, have been without drinking water since Saturday as a result of damage caused to pipes during the storms. The Council has connected the water supply to a local well but stresses that this water is not for human consumption.

Clean sweep in El Borge

The Mayor of El Borge, Salvador Fernández Marín, is the first to arrive at work in the morning and his first task has become dusting, sweeping and mopping his office and adjacent areas, helping to keep the toilets clean and emptying bins where necessary.

€80,000 for El Borge under the PLAN OLA

The Antonio Gala public school in El Borge is set to benefit from the new Opportunities Plan (PLAN OLA) set up by the Junta de Andalucia with an investment of €80,000 available for the covering of the sports facilities. The project could begin before the end of the year.

Repairs to church in El Borge

The Ministry of Culture, the Diocese of Malaga and El Borge Council are investing a total of €400,000 in the restoration of the tower of the XVI century parish church of Our Lady of the Rosary.
