It is only now being made public that on Christmas Day, residents in the San Andres area of Málaga prevented the sexual abuse of a seven year old girl.
The assailant, a paedophile and repeat offender, had been following the young girl and had taken her into a doorway and was about to begin his abuse when local residents intervened.
They subdued the man but he managed to escape and flee. However, he was caught by police shortly afterwards. The assailant is a repeat offender for these types of offences and was on leave from prison at the time of the incident.
