During the past three months, Local Police in Vélez-Málaga have recovered around 500 kilos of fruit and vegetables stolen from local farmers, making four arrests in the process.
The police have carried out over 1,200 inspections on local farms between November 2010 and January 2011, arresting four people and seizing two vehicles.
The main types of fruit and veg recovered have been custard apples, avocados, oranges, lemons, artichokes and mangoes.
