After neighbours reported a disturbance, police officers arrived at number 46 calle Sant Antoni Maria in the Gracia district of Barcelona to find a woman dead and a man suffering from stab wounds.
The man, 27 year old Pedro Pascual M.C., was arrested and then taken to hospital for treatment.
Police have not yet confirmed that this is a case of domestic violence although the arrest of the woman’s partner would tend to support this hypothesis.
If confirmed, this would be the first domestic fatality in Cataluña in 2011.
