Two people are missing, one on La Gomera and one Tenerife as a result of severe storms currently lashing the Canary Islands.
An 84 year old fisherman failed to return home last night after a fishing expedition to the port of Valle Gran Rey on La Gomera. Local Police and Guardia Civil, with helicopter support, are searching the area.
On Tenerife, a 33 year old Polish national fell into the sea at playa Puerto Santiago in Santiago del Teide.
The storms, producing waves up to five metres, are expected to continue in the islands until late Thurday or even Friday.
