Municipal services in Algeciras (Cádiz) continue the cleanup of areas affected by yesterday’s downpour, while the Emergency Plan was deactivated at midnight.
Cuesta del Rayo, Colonia San Miguel, Rinconcillo and the lower central areas were the worst affected as 142 litre per square metre of rain fell between 11:00 and 14:00 on Sunday.
Some schools have had to close due to flooding and up to 170 homes were flooded during the deluge.
Firemen were kept busy, answering around 100 calls, mostly from people trapped in cars and homes.
