There are new reports of raw sewage being discharged into the rio Chillar at four different points between the mouth of the river at El Playazo and the bridge.
The Council acknowledges that there are intermittent problems due to the unauthorised connection of sewage pipes to the rainwater pipes. There are fines starting from €600 for such offences.
However, one never seems to hear of anyone being prosecuted, or even caught.
