A 65 year old woman in Bescanó (Girona) died this morning after being shot several times, allegedly by her former boyfriend.
The shooting occurred at around 09:00 on Friday morning at her home in calle Constancia, Bescan. The woman died before the Emergency Services arrived on the scene.
At around 10:00, police located the former boyfriend of the woman, Juan T.T., in the town of Angles (Girona). He was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The woman is the third domestic violence fatality in Cataluña so far this year. In Spain as a whole, there have so far been twenty fatalities, two less than during the same period last year.
