Guardia Civil and National Police officers have arrested Jamie Dempsey, a fugitive who appears on the top ten ‘most wanted’ list in the UK.
Dempsey is the subject of an international search, capture and extradite order for drug trafficking offences in the UK. His arrest means that three people from the UK’s top ten most wanted list have been detained on the Costa del Sol since the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Spanish and British authorities.
Jamie Dempsey was born in 1978 and fled the UK in 2009 after the other three members of his gang were arrested. He settled in Benhavis, changed his appearance and obtained false papers. He is wanted in connection with the seizure by police of 229 kilos of cocaine.
