Torrox Council has initiated work on the proposed interpretation centre to be located near the Roman ruins at El Faro, the archaeological site having been declared a BIC – Site of Cultural Interest.
The first phase involves the repair of fencing around the old lighthouse keeper’s house. Further work includes cleaning up the various artefacts and converting the lighthouse keeper’s house into an interpretative centre with reception rooms, an audiovisual centre and an area for workshops.
