New corporations assume their duties

Saturday saw the inaugural meetings of new municipal corporations with various political pacts being negotiated in municipalities where no one party had obtained an absolute majority. Here are a few of the decisions made in Málaga province at the weekend.

María Paz Fernández (PP) is the new Mayor of Ronda following an agreement between the PP and the PA.

Antonio Domínguez (IU) continues as Mayor of Casabermeja after a pact with the PSOE.

Manuel Sánchez (IU) continues as Mayor of Archidona after forming an alliance with the PP.

Benito Carrillo (PA) and José Manuel Carrasco (PP) will each serve two years as Mayor of Algatocín following a PA-PP pact.

The independent Francisco Gómez will be mayor of Benaoján after a tripartite agreement was reached between the APB, PP and IU to oust the ruling PSOE.

Antonio Granero (PA) is the new mayor of Cortes de la Frontera following a pact with the IU.

Melchor Conde (PSOE) is Mayor of Arriate with a simple majority.

Pedro Godino (PP) will be Mayor of Gaucín based upon the party receiving the most votes at the election after failure to negotiate any pacts.

David Sánchez (PSOE) will be Mayor of Jubrique with a simple majority.

Miguel Ángel Sánchez (PP) is the Mayor of Sierra de Yeguas based upon the party receiving the most votes at the elections.

Isabel Garnica (PSOE) returns as mayor of Teba based upon most votes received at the elections.

Gonzalo Sánchez (PSOE) becomes the first mayor of Villanueva de la Concepción, which recently became the 10 municipality in Málaga province, after an agreement was reached with the PP.

Jesús Manuel Galeote (PSOE) is the Mayor of Campillos with a simple majority.

Francisco Vargas Ramos (PSOE) is Mayor of Pixarra and heads a minority government.
