In the past year, local Torrox businessman Alfredo Navas has generously donated over one hundred palm trees to the municipality and these now adorn various gardens and roundabouts in the town.
The palms, grown on land owned by Alfredo Navas, are of the variety Washingtonia and the value of the donation is put at around €100,000. The Council has expressed its appreciation for this generous gesture by installing a commemorative plaque.
