The Council has paid tribute to 11 year old Álvaro Baca Fernández, recently acclaimed champion of Spain in the Pre-kimite karate under 42 kilo category.
Álvaro Baca Fernández was presented with a certificate signed by the Mayor, José Alberto Armijo and the Councillor for Sports, José Alberto Tomé.
Also attending the ceremony were Juan Carlos García, president of the Axarquia Karate Association, and Juan Gallardo, karate coach.
