A joint operation by the Customs Service and the National Police has resulted in the seizure of over 300 kilos of hashish in the port of Motril.
The operation began several days ago when the authorities got wind of a shipment of drugs due to arrive in Motril and surveillance was set up. Divers scoured the area for the drugs which were eventually located on the sea bed in the fishing port.
Nine large bales of drugs were found and police are hoping to locate more caches in the coming days and perhaps even make a few arrests.
