A 40 year old man drowned on Monday afternoon while trying to rescue his son at playa de Zahara in Tarifa, Cádiz province.
Just before 20:00, a number of people noticed that a child was having difficulty getting out of the water and several of them, including the child’s father, jumped into the water to try and rescue him.
Strong winds hampered their rescue attempts and during this time the father died from drowning.
