Woman in Málaga arrested for driving under the influence

A 42 year old Málaga woman has been arrested and charged with temporary abandonment of her children and a crime against road safety after being found to be driving whilst over the alcohol limit and with her two young children in the back of her car.

Police received reports that a woman had driven along calle Valle de Abdalajís and then stopped at a liquor store before getting back in her car and driving off. The reports stated that the woman seemed to be suffering from excessive alcohol consumption and that she had two young children in the back of her vehicle.

The woman was stopped by Local Police officers but not before she had managed to hit two cars and some rubbish containers. No-one suffered any injuries in the incidents.

In the back of the car, fortunately wearing seatbelts, were two children, both aged six years. The woman admitted that they were her children.

She was arrested after testing positive for alcohol with levels of 1.32 and 1.26 milligrams per litre of blood in the two tests. This was not the first time the woman had tested positive for alcohol, the previous time being four years ago.
