Today is the second day of strikes by employees of the bus company Urbanos Amarillos in Jerez, with only one bus per route in operation.
Strikes are not new with the bus companies in Jerez and have been occurring at regular intervals for the past few years now.
The previous concessionaire in Jerez, Cojetusa, owed its workers about €4,000 each when it ceased operating and the current concessionaire, Urbanos Amarillos, has not paid the June and July payroll, nor the summer bonus.
The Council is urging the bus company to immediately pay the outstanding payrolls and to reach an agreement with the employees.
