Police in Murcia have released the parents of a two year old girl who was found inside a rubbish container in Cabezo de Torres after their investigation determined she had been put there by another child with whom she had been playing.
The parents had been arrested in connection with the incident but, although the police are not yet entirely clear how the girl managed to end up inside the rubbish container during a game, they now believe the parents had nothing to do with it.
In fact, the mother had been searching for her daughter and had found her shoes on the street, arriving at the rubbish container at almost the same time as the Guardia Civil.
The Guardia Civil had been alerted by a local resident who found the child, who was none the worse for her ordeal, when she was putting out her rubbish.
The young girl was reunited with her parents, Moroccan nationals, after the incident had been clarified.
