Police in Vélez-Málaga have arrested two more people in connection with the robbery of a tobacconist in Torre del Mar on August 29th, bringing the total number of detainees to five.
On August 29th, a tobacconist on his way to the bank with the takings was attacked and robbed, suffering a blow to the head during the heist. The robbers had obviously studied the movements of the tobacconist beforehand and noted that routes and timings were always the same.
In an initial police raid, three people were arrested and €2,800 was recovered, believed to be proceeds of the robbery. However, the actual attackers managed to flee the scene after seeing the police arrive.
