Seven people have now been arrested in Ronda in connection with an anti-corruption operation codenamed ‘Acinipo’.
Amongst those detained and held overnight at the police station in Málaga are the former Mayor of Ronda, Antonio Marin Lara, several councillors and two directors of Eroski.
The accusations include influence peddling, bribery, misappropriation of public funds, breach of trust, forgery and money laundering.
