The Council, with the support of the Opposition PSOE on this occasion, is trying once more to request the Ministry of Culture to lift the ‘protected’ status for the village of Maro.
The Council made a similar appeal back in February and in June was told that a review would be made at the appropriate time and the Council would be duly informed of progress. As no answer has so far been forthcoming, the Council is trying again.
