It was probably the last thing they wanted but 129 sub-Saharans were ‘rescued’ by the Marine Rescue Service after receiving a tip-off from an informant in Morocco.
The migrants were travelling in two boats and were intercepted about forty miles south of the Almeria coast near the isla de Alborán. Amongst the passengers were 8 children, one a baby, and 24 women.
