A 19 month old baby is in a serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital Maternal after falling from the balcony of a first floor apartment in Alfacar, Granada.
The young boy suffered serious head injuries after apparently falling from the balcony while his mother was busy doing housework.
The Guardia Civil put the incident in the hands of the National Police but all indications are that it was an accident, several witnesses apparently stating that they saw the child fall without any outside interference.
