Rincón de la Victoria is set to introduce its first municipal ordinance relating to the placement of mobile phone antennae in order to avoid protests by local residents such as occurred recently in urbanisation Don Miguel in La Cala del Moral.
Included in the new ordinance is a requirement that antennae cannot be within 150 metres of schools, daycare centres, health centres and other public buildings so as to avoid possible hazards and discomfort.
In addition, antennae cannot be placed in urban areas where there are detached houses, as happened in La Cala del Moral, and there are provisions to avoid the possibility of multiple antennae being placed on one mast.
