Police in Vélez-Málaga have arrested a man suspected of being the perpetrator of ten burglaries in the Axarquia.
The investigation began on July 7th when a resident complained that he had been burgled in the early morning while he slept. The resident was woken by the noise and struggled with the thief but the thief managed to flee.
The police investigation led to one particular individual as the suspect in this and other similar robberies and after a period of surveillance he was detained.
The burglar always used the same modus operandi, climbing the walls of houses, forcing entry through windows or breaking in via laundry rooms. Once inside he would grab what valuables he could and then leave through the front door.
The detainee has a prior record of similar offences.
