The Council has approved the basic plans for the new Fire Station to be built near the motorway junction on the Frigiliana road, a 3,600 metre plot ceded by the Council for this purpose back in 2008.
The budget for the project has been set at €1,200,000 and the new facility will serve a number of towns and a large area of the Axarquia.
The Council is now waiting for the Junta de Andalucia to sign an agreement with the provincial Council in order for the tender process to be set in motion.
