According to the mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Francisco Delgado, improvement works to the La Legión area should be finished in April 2012.
The project, budgeted at €202,239, began in November 2011 and is financed under the Programa Fomento del Empleo Agrario (PFEA-2011). The project includes improvements to the pedestrian area, replacement of street furniture, new trees and improvements to the water supply system.
