Fourteen people have been arrested in Marbella for allegedly defrauding the elderly and foreign visitors by means of gas inspections.
The detainees are managers, employees and owners of legitimately registered companies but who prey on the unwary by carrying out unnecessary checks on gas installations, often intimidating their victims into letting them inspect their gas system.
The prices then quoted, once the ‘work’ has been carried out, are at least three times the real cost from a legitimate inspection company.
